Adelphi Mill - Built circa 1796. The principal structure is a 2-story stone grist mill on the Northwest branch; it is the oldest and largest in the Washington area. Available for rental for small social and business functions.  Phone: (301) 918-8111 
Arlington National Cemetery - America's largest national burial ground with more than 600 acres of landscaped hills. Among the thousands of white headstones are the graves of President John Kennedy, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, world champion boxer Joe Louis and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Open daily 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (to 7 p.m. April-September). Free admission.  Choice of self-guided walking tour or paid shuttle tour (information available at the Visitors Center). Busch Gardens & Water Country USA - An Anheuser Busch theme park with 17th century flair, boasts more than 40 thrilling rides, dazzling shows, quaint shops and European cuisine. Open March-October. Group rates and meeting space available. Call for details.   Phone: (757) 253-3584 
Clearwater Nature Center - Clearwater Nature Center has something for nature lovers of all ages. Attractions include the very popular exhibit hall, which features a view of life underground. Other highlights include a variety of live reptiles, birds of prey, an indoor turtle pond and other surprises.  Phone: (301) 297-4575 
Cosca Regional Park - Park facilities open 7:30 am to dusk year-round for all facilities except athletic fields. Park facilities include campsites, nature center, picnic areas, playground, lake with boating and fishing, trails, year-round tennis courts and ball fields.  Phone: (301) 868-6636 
Marine Corps Memorial - One of the largest bronze statues ever cast, this 78-foot memorial commemorates all the marines who have died in battle since 1775. Felis W. deWeldon created the monument from a famous photograph showing the flag being raised on Mount Suribachi during World War II. Open 24 hours. Free. Phone: (703) 285-2601
George Washington's Mount - George Washington's Mount Vernon: Estate and Gardens stretches over 500 open acres, featuring the Mansion, Washington's Tomb, Slave Memorial, two museums, 12 outbuildings, gardens and the exciting new George Washington: Pioneer Farm site, plus shopping, dining and MORE!  Phone: (703) 780-2000

Patuxent River Park - Patuxent River Park's 6,000 acres of marsh, swamp and woodlands lie along the eastern boundary of Prince George's County. The park's features and activities include boat ramps, fishing piers, hiking and horseback trails, camping , canoe and kayak rentals, nature hikes, river ecology boat tours and natural history programs.
